She found her husband kissing another woman on his yacht… but he had no idea what Dolores had discovered that morning

Dolores had been married to Federico for thirty-nine years.

At sixty-five, she thought she knew every gesture, every silence, and every habit of the man with whom she had built an entire life.

They had raised two children and overcome difficult times.

Now they enjoyed a comfortable retirement, with a house near the sea and an elegant yacht moored in the harbor.

That morning, Dolores decided to surprise him.

She bought a small bouquet of pink and lilac flowers, the same ones that decorated her wedding.

Then he headed to the port.

As she entered the cabin, she smiled.

But her smile disappeared immediately.

Federico was sitting on the cream-colored leather bench.

On his lap was a woman of about thirty-eight years, with dark brown hair and a terracotta-colored dress.

They were kissing.

Dolores felt the ground disappear beneath her feet.

“Federico…” she whispered.

He stood up abruptly.

“Dolores, wait.”

The other woman stepped aside, showing little surprise.

Dolores looked at her husband.

“Who is she?”

Federico remained silent.

“I’m talking to you.”

The stranger crossed her arms.

“My name is Clara.”

Dolores squeezed the bouquet.

“How long have you been together?”

Federico sighed.

“This is not the time to argue.”

That answer was enough.

The flowers fell onto the wooden floor.

Dolores felt tears running down her cheeks.

“I have shared almost forty years of my life with you.”

Federico looked away.

“Things change.”

“And that’s why you lied to me?”

Then he hardened his face.

“This house is not yours.”

Dolores watched him in silence.

Then she slowly picked up her bag.

“You’re right about something, Federico.”

He frowned.

“In what?”.

“Things have changed.”

Without adding anything else, he left the cabin.

But what Federico didn’t know was that Dolores had received a call from the bank a few hours earlier.

The entity wanted to confirm an extraordinary transaction related to the yacht.

Someone had applied for a loan of three hundred thousand euros using the boat as collateral.

And the application included a signature supposedly from him.

Dolores had never authorized that operation.

Upon arriving at the dock, she called her sister, Carmen, a lawyer specializing in property matters.

“I need you to review some documents.”

Carmen listened attentively.

“Come to the office. And don’t sign anything.”

Two hours later, Dolores was sitting across from her.

Carmen examined the bank documents.

“Dolores, something strange is going on here.”

“What’s happening?”

“The yacht is registered in the name of a commercial company.”

Dolores nodded.

“Federico always said it was for tax reasons.”

Carmen pointed to a page.

“The company has two administrators.”

“Federico and I, I suppose.”

His sister slowly shook her head.

“Federico and a woman named Clara Medina.”

Dolores remained motionless.

Clara.

The woman in the cabin.

“Since when?”

“For eighteen months.”

Dolores felt a knot in her stomach.

Carmen continued reviewing the papers.

“And there’s something else. Clara has requested to become the sole administrator.”

“Can you do it?”

“Not without meeting certain requirements. But someone has submitted documents to justify the change.”

Carmen placed another sheet of paper on the table.

It was an authorization supposedly signed by Dolores.

The date corresponded to the day she had hip surgery.

“I was admitted to the hospital,” she murmured.

“I know,” Carmen replied.

Dolores looked at the signature.

It looked similar to his, but there were small details that didn’t match.

Carmen took a deep breath.

“We can challenge this documentation and request an investigation.”

Dolores nodded.

Then his phone rang.

It was Federico.

This time he answered.

“Dolores, we need to talk.”

She looked at her sister.

“Yes, Federico. We have a lot to talk about.”

He remained silent for a few seconds.

Then he asked:

“Have you been to the bank today?”

Dolores felt her heart racing.

“Why are you so worried that he spoke to the bank?”

Federico did not answer.

And in that silence, Dolores understood that her husband knew exactly what documents he had discovered.
